  • Veggie Burger | Yummy & Crispy Tikki Burger | Home Made Recipe

    Ingredients of veggie burger:
    1 cup chopped onion
    1 cup chopped carrot
    1/2 cup green peas
    7-8 Medium size boiled potatoes
    1/2 cup poha powder
    1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
    1 tbsp coriander powder
    1/2 tbsp roasted cumin powder
    1/2 tbsp chaat masala
    1/2 tbsp black pepper
    1 tbsp garlic powder
    1 tbsp chilli flakes
    Salt to taste
    1 tbsp lemon juice
    1/2 cup corn flour
    1/2 cup maida
    3/4 glass water
    2 cup bread crumbs
    8 tbsp mayonnaise
    4 tbsp tomato ketchup
    Butter as required
    Burger buns
    Onion slices
    Tomato slices
    Cabbage leaves
    Tomato ketchup as required


    Step 1:
    Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and add onion, carrot, green peas. Mix well and saute the veggies for 2 mins on a medium flame until become soft.

    Step 2:
    Take a bowl and mash the boiled potatoes with the help of potato masher or hand. Add the sauteed veggies and mix everything well. Add the poha powder (grind 1 cup of poha to a fine consistency in a mixer or grinder) and mix well. Now time to add turmeric powder, coriander powder, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, black pepper, garlic powder, chilli flakes
    , Salt, lemon juice and mix everything well.

    Step 3:
    To prepare burger tikki, take the mixture and make the veggie tikkis as same as the size of burger buns.

    Step 4:
    To prepare batter - In a bowl add maida, corn flour and add the water to make a smooth batter without any lumps and should be of medium consistency. Keep aside the batter in a bowl.

    Step 5:
    To prepare bread crumbs - Take 7-8 bread slices and grind it in a mixer or grinder to a fine consistency and keep aside in a plate or bowl.

    Step 6:
    To prepare mayonnaise sauce - In a bowl, take mayonnaise and tomato ketchup and mix well. Keep aside.

    Step 7:
    Coat the veggie tikki evenly in a batter. Then, place the coated tikki on the breadcrumbs and coat evenly. Deep fry the coated tikki in oil for 2 mins on a high flame. Flip the tikkis once the base becomes browned and crust becomes crispy. Take out the tikkis on a tissue paper to drain the oil properly.

    Step 8:
    Slice the burger buns into two equal halves. Heat some butter in a pan and toast the burger bun slices.

    Step 9:
    Take a burger bun slice and spread the tomato ketchup on it. Top-up with the cabbage leaf, tomato slice, crispy veggie tikki and onion slice. On the top of it, spread some mayonnaise sauce that we made and kept aside in a bowl. At the end, place other half of a burger bun on it.

    Step 10:
    Veggie crispy burger is ready.
