We followed your “12 days”, practiced everything (we are 1st Xmas veggie) & ended up with 2 or 3 main courses, ginger biscuits (brilliant) & our all time favorites, the “sausage” rolls.     We made these for New Years eve. The mushroom version was delicious and we will make this a regular recipe for such events. The cranberry version was too sour. We tried to make it into a neutral taste by putting some cashews in, but it didn't help much. I might try these again with dried cranberries. I love chestnuts!

    We made this EXACTLY per the recipe for afternoon appitizers and they were a MAJOR hit. Family duped them "morsels" and cried for more. This will definitely be in my vegan party menu for ever and ever.

    Made 'em and loved them 🙂 I added some ground clove to the cranberry and chestnut filling and that really enriched the flavours. Loved the mushroom filling with the crunchyness of the cashews too. But that vegan puff pastry though… That stuff is way more finnicky than the omnivore version. It got really sticky really fast, which made it hard to make the rolls. I need a tutorial on how to deal with vegan puff pastry please!!

    Being the only vegan of my family, I'm actually cooking my own christmas dinner this year, and I think I'll do the mushroom stuffed one, a big version of it as my main dish!

    I've been browsing for a yummy vegan appetiser all day, and these look delicious! We're celebrating Christmas Eve with 3 families, and everybody has been assigned a different dish to bring … would you be able to prep these in advance (morning? Day before?) and than bake them in the evening? How would you prevent the puff pastry from drying out? Or could/should you bake them in advance and then reheat them?
